SF@NYG: Plastering a pylon
For the second straight week, as announcer Kevin Burkhardt points out, San Francisco’s Jerick McKinnon crashes into a pylon and walks away with a score. (“He’s getting used to those pylons,” Burkhardt jokes.)
Yet he never touches the end zone and lands out of bounds. That’s not how we would rule a touchdown. Hocus Bogus rating: 4

WAS@CLE: Corner cutter
We’re fans of Nick Chubb at this site, but if we’re doing our job (putting an end to airspace touchdowns), we are duty-bound to point out Chubb planted his left foot just in front of the goal line (see image below), then landed out of bounds with his right foot.
That qualifies as a break-the-plane touchdown under the existing rule, but we hope for a day when ball carriers must make in-bounds contact with the end zone in order to walk off with six points. Rating: 3
